Kallie the Farmer

Last night, Kallie decided to try to start a little garden. She found a perfect little hole with lots of germs to help enrich her little plant. Only problem was that the perfect little hole was her right nostril.

Neither Ryan nor myself actually saw her shove the corn up. At the time, I was feeding Whitney cereal and Ryan was cleaning up from dinner. Kallie looked at me, stuck her finger up her nose, and said, "Corn!" Knowing that I had pulled the same stunt as a child with peas, (and actually wondering when Kallie would do the same thing), I immediately realized what was going on. Since I couldn't leave Whitney, Ryan came over and tried to get Kallie to blow her nose a few times. As most people know, most 2-year old's nose blowing skills are not all that advanced, resulting in Kallie sucking in before blowing out--and NO forward progress for the corn. I decided that advanced assistance was needed and headed downstairs to retrieve the baby aspirator. Just as I was about to head back upstairs, I heard a cheer from the kitchen. Apparently, my little sister, Carissa, had modeled how to hold one nostril shut while blowing--and following the instructions, (with some assistance from Daddy), Kallie popped the corn right out.

I'm sure we'll have many other little farmers in our family--but I'm glad to get the first mis-planted seed out of the way for now.
